The walk to the nearby ice cream store was made in silence. But it wasn't an awkward silence, but more a thoughtful one, created only because the two parties were most likely too tired to strike up an actual conversation.

Stepping into the store, Aya was cheered up immediately. The store was decorated in bright colors, and all sorts of sweets filled up the walls. It was like a little child's dreamland. And quite possibly a parent's worst nightmare.

"Last time I was here, it took forever for me to decide what to get," Aya commented to Omi, still glancing around in awe. "There are just so many choices."

Omi smiled as he to looked around. "I think the last time I was here I wound up getting one of everything. I have a sweet tooth that doesn't get satisfied as often as it should." Omi looked over and spotted a large box of Pocky, he grabbed two of them. He grabbed a couple other things as he walked back over to Aya-chan.

"Have you ever tried these?" He asked holding up a bag of hard candies the bag said 'flower kiss candy' "I think they taste like peaches."

Omi heard Aya-chan sigh and frowned a bit. "What'cha thinking?" He asked trying to keep a conversation going, but trying to keep it away from recent stressful events, at least for the time being.

((OOC: Sorry about the poor response >_< it's almost 1Am and i've been on my feet all day. But I wanted to post something))

"I don't think he would be able to complain if I help you with your homework so you don't fall behind." Omi said smiling back.

((OOC: It's alright~ This is actually the first time I was able to get on and see if you had responded yet.)
"I think we should head home. Maybe get a jump start on the stack of homework that we'll be swimming in soon if we don't do something about it today." Omi said as he munched on some of his own candy.

Outside the shop, a man in a business suit made a strangely halting walk across the road to the sidewalk by the window. His face was bruised, bandages were tacked in a way that seemed haphazard to his skin. It was obvious the otherwise pleasant-looking man had done his best to conceal them beneath a shaggy but short-cut head of hair. There were a few areas that looked as if they should have had bandages across the lower part of his face.

Yutaro Sato paused, briefcase in one hand while the other lifted to wipe something that could have been a spot of blood from his cheek. He appeared winded.

He made as if to take a step, but glanced sideways before he did so.

The man paused, eyes resting on Omi and Aya-chan, still in the shop.

\\mi blinked and looked in the direction of the window. His eyes lingered on a couple people passing by before they finally settled on Sato. Omi's eyes narrowed as he took in Sato's appearance.

"It's Sato-san." Omi said and headed to the door wanting to know why that man was here. But as Omi was able to get a better look at Sato he wanted to know what happened to him. He certainly looked like he had seen better days.

(eep! I forgot a wouldn't get a notice for this, since it wasn't a direct response! Sorry!)

Sato smiled with the same motions he always had, but instead of being pleasant, the movement twisted his face up around his wounds.

"Ready to go?" He asked, mostly for the benefit of passerby, and the people gawking at him from various places in their immediate vicinity. "I'll walk you home."

One of the women who had been standing by the door hurried over before his employee or the girl had a chance to answer him. She looked directly at the teens. "Do you know this man?" She sounded nervous, and was avoiding eye contact with Sato.

"I was in a car accident." He stated as smoothly as he could, but the woman acted like she hadn't heard. His fingers shifted on the handle of his briefcase.

Omi gave the woman a bright smile and nodded. "Yes ma'am we know him." Omi answered. Not having much choice now he took Aya-chan's hand and headed over to Sato. He would save questions for a less populated area.
(ooc: sorry about the short responce, I wanted to get one in before work and I can't get on after work because my friends are kidnapping me for the weekend)

Sato relaxed and nodded cordially to the woman, who was still glaring. "Please excuse us."

He shepherded Abyssinian's sister and Bombay forward by falling into step behind them. "It's been a long day." The statement was said softly, almost to himself. His eyebrows were raised, as if he were surprised.

He hoped that coming to Weiss would prove the right choice, because it certainly was not direction that had been given by his employers.

He would decide later, however, if they needed to know that.

Omi glanced over his shoulder at Sato as the man followed behind them. "I'm sure it has." He said as he once again took in his appearance. "Are you going to explain what happened to you? And why you're heading towards the Koneko?" He asked wanting a bit of info before they got home.

[OMG! I am so sorry, both of you. I was waiting for an email alert, instead of watching the thread. Forgive me??]

Sato sent what was meant to be a reassuring smile at the girl, who was looking at him distrustfully. He had a respect for her, though he didn't know the teenager personally - she had, however, given Kritiker one of their most useful employees, their most useful weapons. She was part of the past that had shaped the team of Weiss.

Just as the pieces of Sato's own past were still there to be found, out there in the world. Wherever they might be.

"What happened to me?" Sato echoed Omi's words absentmindedly, looking almost paranoid as he glanced down every alleyway they past, into every window, across every street. "...we're taking you home, are we not?"

((OOC: you're forgiven, though I'm just as bad. >_<))

Omi frowned more as he watched Sato's obvious nervousness about something. Omi did a quick glance around himself trying to see if there was anything around that would be making Sato act like this. Not seeing anything he stopped walking and turned to look at Sato.

"Yes, we are going home, but you are not answering my question, what happened to you?" Omi asked again. He was sure there was nothing, or no one dangerous near by but the way Sato kept glancing around as if expecting something to happen was starting to put Omi's nerves on edge.

Sato directed another smile that was meant to be reassuring at the young assassn. "Acquaintences of yours failed to kill me. Whether or not that was on purpose..." He trailed off. "Yes, I think it's best we wait. Your teammates will need to hear everything as well. So no more questions for now."

Sato hastened his limping gait, eyes still scanning every block they passed.

Omi was very uneasy around Sato. He didn't like only hearing highlights of what happened to the man. 'acquaintences of yours failed to kill me' Omi didn't have to think about that to know that he didn't like the sound of it. The walk back to the koneko was a quiet one. And it wasn't until they were making their way into the back that Omi realized that he had been keeping himself between Sato and Aya as a reflex. Not that he really thought Sato would try anything, but Aya didn't need to get any more mixed up in anything then she already was.

Once inside Omi handed her his bag. "Can you bring that upstairs to my room for me? I'll be up later and we can work on our homework then. You can go through my notes if you want." He said finding that to be the politest way to get her to go upstairs. It was definitively better then telling her that whatever Sato had to say was none of her business.

Turning his attention to Sato he gave the man a once over. He couldn't tell him to wait here, he looked like he was ready to fall over at any second. "Go wait downstairs in the mission room. I'll get the others and meet you down there." Omi said going to call the rest of Weiss but paused for a second looking back at Sato. "And don't touch anything."

[Omi exits]
