Sato gave Omi a chary look and fixed it back on Manx. If she wanted to discuss these matters in front of field agents however, he decided that was her call.
"You've proved loyal to Kritiker and to humanity," Sato began grandly, a friendlier look on his face as he spoke to Omi, "So I suppose you deserve any information I'm allowed to give. But keep in mind," he turned back to Manx, "That Kritiker is divided and while one half may want me dead, I am still Kritiker itself." He smiled, guilessly. "Just as you both are."
The last was said while looking directly at Manx. He maintained eye contact, looking for any waver of the eye, any hesitancy, any betrayal. "I am not the only one who has been hard to get ahold of. But these are busy times, of course."
He smiled more broadly. "And I appreciate your help, as does our Abyssinian I must assume. You've done what I could not. Your absence has given you some freedom," The turn of his lips turned self-depricating. "As you must see by looking at me."
He shrugged then, slightly. "As to Schwarz - I can only guess that whoever is paying them did not do their research, or misread them. They are more than capable of killing this team."
Sato gave Omi an apologetic smile before shifting back to Manx. "I haven't a clue why they kept me alive." He grimaced, touching his bandages gingerly in acknowledgement.
