Omi went straight to his room and closed himself off behind its door, cheeks still burning with embarrassment. Now what? He hadn't at all forgotten that he'd made a rather blatant promise to Ken for their evening's activities, and he hadn't forgotten the reasons for it. Ken needed it. He thought it would help. He needed Omi to control him, to be socially confident and commanding and honest and direct. In short, everything that flew right in the face of who he actually was.
He lightly thunked his head back against the door and stared mournfully at the ceiling. Think, Tsukiyono. What was the best strategy here? Ken was not going to need those things any less just because Yohji had managed to say something stupid and Omi had managed to overhear it. But there had to be some way to...

Date: 2007-08-20 03:39 am (UTC)It had taken Ken a few minutes to make his way up to Omi's door. He hadn't waffled so much as mulled things over in his mind. He came to the conclusion that whether it was Ran who upset him or (please please please no) overhearing what was said, Ken would let him decide if he wanted to be around anyone.
Ken could be patient when he had to be. Hell, hadn't he waited this long? Barely? He stuck his hands in his pockets and rocked on his heels a little, waiting for a response.

He smiled resignedly at the same spot at the ceiling that had held his stare for the last few minutes, and after a slight pause, turned and cracked the door open, an appreciative eye and a bashful smile peeking out from the sliver.
Another pause, and without a word, Omi hid behind the door and opened it wider to let Ken inside.

"Hi." Warmly neutral, a little uncertain, but present.

Date: 2007-08-20 04:16 am (UTC)"Hi." Just as warm, just as uncertain. Omi had no idea what to say next, though his mouth was making valiant attempts to croak out something else.
He finally gave up, sighed, and stepped closer, hiding his face in Ken's chest as he put his arms around him.
Some things simply couldn't be said with words.

Ran stopped outside of Omi's door, and the force of his anger at the thought caused him to knock harder on the door than he'd intended. Don't be a foolish idiot, Fujimiya. That's a useless thought. You can't afford those.

Date: 2007-09-05 08:22 am (UTC)Unfortunately, Omi's mind was in such a tumble when the knock came. And Omi jumped, and Omi cried out as though he'd cut himself-- smooth, Tsukiyono. Was it Ken again? Maybe he forgot something. Or wanted to try talking now oh but Omi didn't even know what to say anymore! And it had all seemed so much clearer before Ken had pulled him to the bed and--
Omi looked at the door and turned off the faucet water... how long had he had his hands under there anyway? The warm water was so soothing and mesmerizing, and he'd just drifted off. He shook the extra water from his fingers and wiped them on his shorts as though it were sweat.
Swallowing once, Omi opened the door and double-took.
"Aya-kun...!"

Date: 2007-09-05 06:42 pm (UTC)Omi's cheeks flushed furiously. "H-h-hai! I'll be here! Have fun! I mean..." Okay. That was definitely not an 'Aya' reason to go out. "Good luck? I..."
Just stop now, Tsukiyono. You're better off not. saying. another. word.
He smiled as widely as he could through the strain of trying to hold it and waved goodbye and please for the love of god don't ask Aya-kun I swear I didn't mean to think of her that way don't kill me.

A thought gave him pause on the stairway.
He hadn't been able to look very far into Omi's room. Omi nearly always invited them in or at least opened his door wide.
Ran shook his head. There was no way it was what he'd almost thought. None. Who with, besides?
He'd spent too much time with his teammates. Which is also why he needed to walk.
He continued on his way.
