Yohji Grabbed a beer out of the fridge and snapped the cap off, barely even looking as he did so. It was routine and didn't take much of his attention to accomplish. It was one of the many things he could do without looking or thinking; he'd become rather adept at functioning without paying attention.

His mind was a little on the list of tv programs he had surveyed from the paper. A little on his non-existent plans for the evening. More than a little on the last mission they had executed--but he was trying very hard to block that out.

For a brief moment he wondered what his teammates were up to. Something more interesting and fulfilling than you, his brain supplied. This is why thinking was bad.

He sighed, took a gulp of his beer, and flicked on the tv to an anonymous program.

I really need to start going out again, he thought.

I'm sorry if my confusion came off the wrong way.

[livejournal.com profile] genuinelie linked me to Dead Ringer a while back and I saw that you had access to the model sheets. I wasn’t trying to be super nit-picky in mentioning them; I was expressing the source of my confusion and why I didn’t want to assume that you had Yohji out in a living room or something when you might have intended him to be lounging in his own room like Aya. Unfortunately I neglected to express this in the post @_@ I was feeling pretty frazzled from other factors at the time I wrote it, so my attempt to explain didn’t come out as clearly as I’d have liked, and I think a little too much of that frazzle leaked into the tone of my question, and I’m sorry for that. I’ll probably just mention a hello to Yohji in the below thread and send Omi jogging.

Also, I truly suck at modding. Both of you asked me where you should post, and I think I was wishy-washy with both answers.

So! Ahoy! I shall mod. I think this is fine where you put your post, [livejournal.com profile] skyrat13, because it really is in a somewhat different location than the other. Having it stuck in the middle would have made things confusing.

Therefore, if Yohji is intent on his TV program, whoever comes to drag him up to breakfast should post here, in Yohji's thread.

If Yohji smells teh food and follows teh stomach, he should probably mosey on over to "Introspectre."

Let me know if you think this is a bad rule, but from now on let's follow this sort of format: If you wish action to occur in a location different than a current active thread, or want to make a stand-alone post just to call attention to your character's thoughts, make a new thread. Otherwise, try to keep things as condensed as possible.

I'll be more decisive with future questions. Thanks guys ^_^

The thing is, I don't want twenty billion threads. It's unneccessary. RPs should be read chronologically anyway, so if it progresses naturally within a thread I don't feel a need to move play to a whole new one. The only thing that does is make it easier for players to find old posts, if they're looking for a certain topic, but it also makes play confusing to follow if you're reading along and then suddenly the thread disappears to a new post.

I think it will be understandable if Yohji jumps back one thread this time, since we have comments noting confusion already in this post. Like I said, my bad. You asked and I didn't give a clear mod answer.

I really want to try and limit new threads to completely different locations, or if a certain character wanders away from a RP interaction that's still going on.

For example, since no one was interacting yet, I should have told you to put your post in the same thread as mine.

In my opinion, it should read more like a story, and less like individual LJ blogs. But that's my opinion, of course.
