[anyone know what song that's from? The internet radio didn't tell me ;_;]
Ran felt Yohji following him into his room. He was too mentally exhausted and his leg hurt too much for him to care.
Rather, to pretend not to care. That would be more accurate, he recognized.
If he were honest with himself, Yohji's presence was not unwelcome.
He ignored the other man, still awkward with where the night had progressed. He sat on his bed without speaking, trying to decide if he should throw Yohji out. After a moment, he gave in to himself. He wanted Yohji there, and it was inevitable that his sister would know, she deserved to, and Omi was simply too observant.
Fine. If they had a problem with it, it was their problem, he decided.
He used his hands to move his leg onto the bed, then eased himself under the covers.
Do you intend to kill my brother too? Aya had asked.
He might not be the innocent Ran as his sister had known him before her coma, but he was not gone. He might not be able to return, but he owed her to try to hold onto what was left. What he felt around Yohji felt like hope for that, and if he didn't give that a chance, even he couldn't believe in his own humanity.
"There's room," Ran said shortly, pointing out the obvious.

Not this, certainly. Ran was surprising him. And the discovery that the other man had no relationship history whatsoever certainly improved Yohji's outlook. Ran just needed time, he decided, and Yohji was fairly confident in his ability to make the younger man come round.
He was generally a bit more confident than was good for him, in all honesty.
"That's what I want to hear," he agreed amicably, taking care to crawl into bed on the side of Ran that allowed him to lay on his stable side.
Any personal space that might have existed between them was effectively eradicated as Yohji enthusiastically wound himself around his bedmate.

Date: 2008-12-06 06:13 am (UTC)He was too tired to argue. He wasn't even sure how he felt about it. He usually liked his space while he slept, he kept to the middle of the bed when he was by himself, hands to his sides on his back. Yohji's limbs were slightly smothering -
And slightly comforting.
Yohji's desire to be so close to him was bewildering.
The man generated heat like a cat.
Ran's eyes fell shut. Some of the tension bled out.

He closed his eyes and felt his body start to relax more than it had in days. Ran was reassuringly solid and comforting, even given the tension still strung through his thin frame.
"'m glad to still be alive," he finally said with a small yawn. It was a quiet assertion, not intended to cultivate actual discussion. But the sentiment was rare enough that he felt it shouldn't slip by unacknowledged.

Another moment, and he was breathing deeply, completely out.
