Sunday 1.14 - solitude
Feb. 16th, 2007 10:59 pmAs soon as she was within the building, Aya-Chan found herself wanting to make a mad dash for her room. Instead, she found herself slowly making up the stairs. She could hear someone in the kitchen, and assumed that it would be Yohji - Omi and Ken said they'd stay behind for the grocery didn't they? She knew she should stop and apologize for losing contact with him earlier that day, but she couldn't bring herself to stop.
The sound of the door slamming behind her jolted her back into reality; she hadn't noticed that she'd used so much force on the door to her room. Taking a deep breath, Aya-Chan urged herself to calm down. She wasn't even sure why she had gotten so worked up, just that nothing made sense anymore.

"Grocery shopping went well?"

Why hadn't he thought about it before knocking? He found he couldn't hold eye contact with that smile, and averted his gaze to the baseboard on his right. It felt stupid to be asking if she was all right when she was standing right there and smiling at him. Obviously she was.
"I was worried, when you left, that you must have been frightened by what happened. I wanted to see that you were okay but..." He looked up and flashed her an embarrassed smile. "It looks like it hasn't phased you at all! Gomen. I underestimated what a strong spirit you are."

Date: 2007-02-22 01:29 am (UTC)"Thank you." It was a nice gesture, and she was grateful for it. "I... I'm fine now. Ran-niisan explained to me."
It was a lie, and she wasn't used to lying. The entire sentence felt uncomfortable to say, but Aya-Chan forced it out anyways. Worrying Omi, especially after he'd gone out of his way to make sure she was okay, didn't seem right.

Date: 2007-02-22 02:21 am (UTC)"O-oh... He did..." Omi's stomach rolled over. That would explain it. Well, now he really felt awkward. He made a weak attempt to recover his smile. "Then, I'm glad you know how dangerous they are now. In that case, I guess I'd better get started on that math assignment."

Date: 2007-02-22 02:41 am (UTC)How dangerous? She wanted to ask. Instead, Aya-Chan made a small noise through her nose, feeling that if she opened her mouth to speak, she'd end up blurting out something to make the situation more awkward. She paused awkwardly, collecting her thoughts.
"Good luck with that. I'm sorry for taking you away from your studies this morning."

Ken-kun can have such a temper sometimes and..." Who would have stood and protected her? If Ken had lost his head and attacked like he had? Even knowing deep down it would have meant little had they been serious... How much worse, to have not gone and realized later you'd decided doing homework was more important than protecting someone treasured? What would Ran have said to that?

[o_O If she did go downstairs, would I go back to 1.12?]

[I don't know o_O Given what they're saying, it's obviously taken place before Omi gets back. Mods?]
