OOC: Writer's block...

Just a quickie question for the mods (and everyone else as well!)

So, we're at a point where Ken is supposed to discuss a large part of his past, and I find myself at an impass.

How much of the characters pasts are we allowed to muddle with? I can make implications based from the show and all, but if the character is and never will be a PC or an NPC, what are the boundaries as far as what we are allowed to muck with and what we aren't?

I.E.- If I were to imply that Ken and Kase had a relationship that stepped over the boundaries of platonic friendship, will I be tied to the mizenmast and flogged?

::peers at length of post in progress:: Also, if we need (want) to post very long posts that deal *only* with past events, should we make them a separate post, or just suck it up and edit? ::grumbles about character limits in comments::

Granted I'm not a mod, here are my thoughts:

Seeing as Kase is dead and ONLY part of Ken's past, you should have the right to say they had whatever kind of relationship you wanted before, provided it still fits with what was shown.

As for the character limits, I'd just say to divide the post into two parts like you did before. It may be talking about the past but it's still part of the conversation with Yohji. I think it'd be confusing to have it placed elsewhere.

Again, just my two cents. We'll have to see what the mods say, but I'm looking forward to reading. I've been keeping an eye on that thread for updates.

Heh, I *assumed* you were going to say they had a very involved past relationship. As Pichi said, he's dead and no one is playing him, so it's not like you are going to step on anyone's toes with how you portray him. Since he was only in one episode he wasn't a developed enough character for ooc-ness to really be an issue. I say write whatever the hell you want as far as Ken's past is concerned.

I has similar concerns though, regarding just how elaborately Yohji could describe his past with Asuka....

I also, would prefer you kept the post in the current thread and just divided it up. If there were no new entries after Yohji's initial post making a new post wouldn't be so bad, since they would be consecutive, but since Ken's new post would be significantly seperated, well, I'd personally find that confusing.

Thank you for the help! I think I've managed to get a better grasp on the whole thing, and as soon as I have more than two seconds for a quickie post it will be up in it's full, grammer and spell-checked emo glory! lol ^_^
