[identity profile] genuinelie.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] theblackcross
Welcome, everyone -

Thanks for signing on! I'm very excited for this RP, because I think we have such a great group of players this time around.

This is the post where all of you can post tips, hints and other helpful nuggets of knowledge either concerning your character, the RP, roleplaying in general, and whatever else strikes your fancy.

For all of you watching this RP, I'm considering making a seperate community, because two of you have asked. This would be very flattering, of course, but would a second post work as a playground for this, or is another forum necessary? Feedback from everyone is appreciated. I've honestly never even thought anyone would bother getting that into someone else's RP, but the fact that someone is interested is pretty cool.

Secondly, I would like to keep the format consistent in here, because I've found otherwise it makes following along confusing. So, from all players - do you prefer first person, or third, or don't you care? This is a majority rules decision.

As a refresher, this is the premise:

Aya (Ran's sister) is awake; Weiss is still living together, Schwartz is still intact. How together and how intact can be left up to RP.

Meanwhile, Kritiker has changed leadership, and the powers that are active within the organization have their own agenda. And it's becoming more and more apparent that these powers aren't exactly good ones.

Surprise, surprise.

For clarity, at the start of this game, Weiss will be aware of the change in Kritiker leadership, but it's more or less life as usual in the flowershop, with the exception of Aya-chan.

Kritiker will be played by [livejournal.com profile] fireun and me.

If everyone could post a brief description of how they see their character in this post, that would be excellent (but of course not mandatory).

All right - as for Crawford, let's leave that question for the moment until the game gets started.

As for Schuldig, I suggest perhaps denoting other people's thoughts with a specific format - perhaps brackets.

[This beer tastes like piss and that damned ninja wannabe needs to lighten up,]

Schu smirked as he caught Yohji's thoughts.

But Fireun, in this case, is really way more experienced a roleplayer than I am, so I'll leave it up to her.

Is that what you were asking or did I misunderstand?

that's not really what i was asking. it's really more a question for fireun, who said to comment here with questions. what i want to know is how it works in roleplaying when another character has to interpret your character well enough that they can read your thoughts. i'd mentioned an example of that where it didn't work out well. though she'd turned schuldig into a sort of empath as well--she had farfarello cowering in fear, after i'd said he doesn't feel fear, just as an example. if schuldig can't read farfarello's thoughts, it's a moot point for my character, but i'd think other people would wonder about this as well. but, if i'm the only one concerned about it, then i want to know just for me. thinking about it a bit more, the person i'd played with that time was a first-time rp'er, though, so if fireun's had a lot of experience as schuldig and this has never come up, then i wouldn't mind trying a situation where farf's thoughts can be read. is this too much explanation? i've probably just confused the issue a lot instead of clarifying...i'm babbly that way...

i do play Schu as being able to 'read' everyone, but i take my cues from the character posts i am interacting in. if you havent made a suggestion that farf is afraid, i am not going to make it be so. if i am unsure, i dont mention anything in particular being 'read' until i can confer with whoever i am interacting with in game.

i dont do much of the whole empathy thing. a bastardized sort of empathy mayhap, in that someone is thinking they are cornered and upset, Schu would know they are, but not empathy as a side power or anything like that.

when it comes to farf though, i like the fanon sort of assumption that farf is bloody hard to read, but i dont see it as impossible. unless you would prefer it that way. i am completely open to character interpretation!

...i am hoping that made sense? am a wee bit tired right now.

spiffaroni. i'd prefer if schu had a hard time reading farfarello, i think. just because i like that interpretation as well. i think being in farf's head would be physically painful, or nauseating, for a telepath, actually.

i particularly like that you said you confer with someone before schu 'reads' them. i think that's good RP'ing. :D
